Why get a spare tyre? (OCT 21 2023)
Kasi minsan may mga bagay na hindi natin inaasahan na mangyari sa atin.
Kanina pag labas ko from parking may narinig ako na hindi tama coming from my car. I pulled ovet to check and ayun na nga, flat ang rear left tyre ko.
Buti na lang hindi ko ito first time. Alam ko na may spare ako at alam ko na may magagawa akong solution sa situation.
Lucky nasa gilid lang ako ng parking exit so hindi ako naka harang sa kalye. I turned off the engine and went for the tools. Ngayon lang na flat sa Innova so I had to open the manual to check paano ma release yung spare sa ilalim and of course to check saan dapat naka pwesto ang jack. After ko mahanap yung spot, I grabbed the jack and then I realized na hindi pala swak yung hook sa butas ng jack. Lagot na! Buti na lang I had a screwdriver and yun ang ginamit ko sa jack so I could elevate the car. I took me 20mins just to get enough height to swap out the tyre. After that it was pretty much done. Tighten everything and throw the flat and the tools in the trunk.
Finally makakauwi na ako. I was dirty, sweaty, tired and annoyed kasi gastos nanaman sa gulong. But after leaving, napaisip ako. Things could have been a lot worse. I could have had a flat in the middle of the street. My tyre could have exploded while driving along the skyway (this has happened to me before). What more if wala pala ako spare? Yun na ang worst case scenario. Buti na lang talaga meron akong spare.
Yung spare tyre parang insurance. You dont have to have it, but it can save you from a much bigger expense if something happens
Do I absolutely have to have one? - no, pwede mag drive kahit walang spare
Did it prevent me from getting a flat? - no, having a spare doesnt Iโll never get a flat
Did it save me from the stress, time and effort to change my tyre? - no, hindi naman magic na mag sswap mag isa yung gulong
Will I still have to spend money? - yes, ang laki nung butas eh. Ill need to buy a new tyre.
Did having a spare save me time, money and more stress? - yes. Hindi ko kinailangan tumawag ng tow truck na mahal. Hindi ko kinailangan iwan ang kotse para mag hanap ng vulcanizing or tyre shop para bumili ng gulong. Despite the issue with the tools, I spent less than 1hr to resolve the issue alone.
Ganyan din ang rason bakit kailangan ng insurance. Mas ok nang handa para sa hindi inaasahan kesa walang pag hahanda at all.
Do I need it? - it depends sa current situation and priorities mo
Will I use it? - most likely yes. death, sickness and old age, lahat tayo diyan papunta and the right plan can provide financial protection for each situation
Afford ko ba? - yes. we all have different financial situations. Dapat may proper assessment para pasok sa budget ang kukunin na plan. Better to have some protection than none at all.
What can it do? - depende sa situation. It could protect your hard earned money from being spent on expensive hospitalization and treatments. It can also save a family of dependents from losing everything they have if the breadwinner passes or can no longer work to provide for their family.
Insurance, like spare tyres, is protection from the unexpected. Consider getting one that best matches your finances and needs.
