In the true spirit of bayanihan this Christmas and New Year season.

BPI BAYAN Negros Occidental, together with our Area Business Director Ma’am Roliene and BPI BAYAN Heads Paz and Tine, shared simple gifts with the 56 beneficiaries of the Tomongtong Mangrove Eco Trail Women Workers’ Association — spaghetti packs and rice, given with gratitude and care. We also distributed the income generated from the mangroves they planted, a meaningful return for their dedication to nurturing and protecting nature.

We also turned over 30 nail polish sets in support of their manicure and pedicure training this year, opening doors to added livelihood opportunities in 2026. And with a little touch of confidence, some lip colors to brighten their everyday welcome to guests along the trail — greeted with a heartfelt “Mabuhay!”

To our partner schools, private and public volunteer groups, the Local Government Unit, and BPI Negros, madamo gid nga salamat sa padayon nga pagsuporta.

𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒

With the approval of the good Mayor Matt Malacon and in coordination with Sir Don Salcedo and MENRO Office Team, ensuring proper guidance and safety, 𝗕𝗣𝗜 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 distributed 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝘀 to the 𝟱𝟲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Each bag contained rice, canned goods, bread, noodles, and a simple Jollibee lunch to bring comfort during this difficult time.

Since Typhoon Tino struck Negros Occidental, the Tomongtong Mangrove Eco Trail has suffered damage: parts of the bamboo pathway and nipa structures were destroyed, and several tall mangroves were knocked down. For everyone’s safety, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀.

As restoration continues, 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲. Entry without proper coordination is strongly discouraged to protect both visitors and the conservation area. Those who wish to visit in the future are encouraged to wait for official updates on the Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail page.

Today, we mourn the passing of Sir Jojo Vargas, a man whose life was a testament to service, friendship and unwavering dedication to the environment and community.

Sir Jojo was more than just the Environmental Head of EB Magalona, he was the beating heart behind many of our BPI BAYAN projects in the area. He was an instrument of change, a champion of both sea and land, working tirelessly to protect our coastlines, forests and the communities that depend on them.

But beyond his role, he was a true friend. He stood with us not only in milestones but also in the quiet, challenging moments. He always made sure no association or group was left behind. He united people, empowered the youth and uplifted everyone he worked with. No matter the obstacle, he met it with clarity, conviction, and optimism.

His legacy lives on in every tree planted, every shoreline cleaned, every young leader inspired and in the countless lives he has touched along the way.

Thank you, Sir Jojo, for the footprints you’ve left on our environment and in our hearts. You will be deeply missed but your mission lives on through all of us.

Rest in peace, our dear friend and environmental warrior. 🕊️🙏🏻

𝖲𝖾𝗉𝗍𝖾𝗆𝖻𝖾𝗋 𝟤𝟢,𝟤𝟢𝟤𝟧 proclaimed by the 𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗔, we raise awareness of the vital role of cleanup efforts in 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 and the importance of taking action towards 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

2024.12.01 | Seafood Boodle Festival

On behalf of the entire team, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the seafood boodle festival a resounding success. With 54 participants, your enthusiasm and support turned this event into a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and delectable seafood!

We are especially thankful for the participation of guests and seafood enthusiasts from EB Magalona, Manila, San Enrique, Sagay, and even an unexpected visitor who traveled from afar within Negros Occidental to join us. Your presence truly enriched the festival and brought people together in the spirit of camaraderie.

Most importantly, we are proud that the proceeds from the festival will directly benefit the hardworking members of the Tomongtong Mangrove Eco Trail Women Wokers's Association. This success would not have been possible without the your generosity and participation.

Thank you for helping us create not just a festival, but a meaningful impact.
