STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CUSTOMS COMMISSIONER

​This is in defense of the men and women of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), who continue to faithfully and diligently perform their mandate of revenue collection and border protection, working every single day under difficult conditions, and risking their lives fighting criminal syndicates to curb smuggling and safeguard the country’s borders, if only to protect the Filipino people.

​From January until December 2025, the Bureau has painstakingly apprehended smuggled goods amounting to a total of PHP 61.70 Billion.

This is clear evidence of the Bureau’s intensified efforts to curb illegal smuggling operations.

​Finally, and despite the challenges and risks that the men and women of BOC face on a daily basis, we bravely assure our legislators and the public that the BOC’s anti-smuggling operations will continue relentlessly, and under my watch, will be guided by integrity, accountability, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to our mandate to serve the country.
