I HAVE SO MANY INSURANCE POLICIES BUT STILL PAID OVER 300K IN HOSPITAL BILLS π΄
Hellooo! I am back!
I went through a major surgery and I'm currently recovering.
For the past decade, I've been teaching people and writing books about money.
And one of the things I often talk about is the importance of having emergency funds, life insurance, medical insurance, and HMOs.
Ang purpose kasi ng insurance mo ay bayaran yung mga bagay na hindi mo alam na mangyayari sayo.
That's why I have so many of them...
PERO DI NIYA NABAYARAN BILLS KO!
Why?
Well it's simply because there were certain factors about my case na hindi talaga icocover ng insurance.
Here's what I learned:
1οΈβ£ Yes, still get insured. Get insurance and HMOs. Important yan. However, READ THE FINE PRINT! Wag kang tamad na aasa lang sa advisor mo. Every policy comes with particular rules on claims, eg: macocover lang ito if ganito ang size ng achuchu mo. Ganon ka detailed!
2οΈβ£ This is also why it's good to get a range of multiple life and medical insurance policies. If di covered ng isa, baka kaya saluhin ng isa. Do not underestimate PhilHealth. Malaking tulong din yon.
3οΈβ£ Emergency funds, emegency funds, EMERGENCY FUNDS! If none of them would work, ya need yer emergency funds. Magipon ka na.
4οΈβ£ Sana yung family and significant other mo meron ding Emergency Funds. I am so privileged that I didn't have to ask for their help, but my very generous boyfriend offered to pay for half of my bill. May Emergency Funds din kasi siya. Syempre gracious receiver tayo hihi π
5οΈβ£ Health is wealth. Literal nakaka-yaman ang pagiging healthy.
6οΈβ£ Add na naten: If you're an employee enjoying insurance and HMO benefits, wag ka aasa don. Get your own privately too.
7οΈβ£ Bago niyo ko bentahan ng even more insurance, remember: no matter how covered you are, certain details about your medical case can totally nullify your insurance benefits (eg: covered ka ng 10 million pero yung size ng tinaggal sayo 1cm bigger than what is covered - yes, may mga ganitong detalye ang coverage.) It really depends on the fine print of the policy. Hindi lang siya about gano kalaki yung coverage. REVIEW YOUR POLICIES WITH YOUR AGENTS!
Alright, pahinga lang ako ulit. π
