“Why Manulife?” A friend once asked me.
To be honest, I never imagined myself in this industry. I attended orientations from other companies, even paid for an exam… but something didn’t feel right. I couldn’t see myself thriving there.
Then one day, I saw my yoga teacher working on a proposal. Curiosity got the best of me — I asked to join her team. Just like that, I took the leap.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing.
My first licensing exam? I cried. 😅 I failed because I didn’t have time to study — just relied on Google and guesswork. The second time, I passed (thankfully!). But tagging? That took me a whole year. Haha.
My first two months were full of adjustments — from the way I dressed to managing my body clock. I’d get called out for my OOTDs. I even got caught sleeping during seminars. I didn’t know how to open my SOA or attend trainings on time.
But then, everything changed during my Aspire Training. That’s when I started taking things seriously. I showed up — and made bawi.
The cherry on top? I later found out that China Bank, where I had my first 7-digit savings account, is a sister company of Manulife. It felt like confirmation: I was exactly where I was meant to be.
