One of the valuable lessons my father has taught me is the value of having INITIATIVE or what is known as the “sentido de common”. The value of doing what needs to be done, when you can, wherever you can, independently.

Back then, these words felt very tiresome to listen but now i realized that i have been living or practicing such value even in the simplest of things that i encounter and how it made my personal life more fulfilling.

New things and new habits oftentimes make us uncomfortable and require a lot of discipline.

3 years ago this cousin of mine felt uncertain to pursue getting her first life insurance policy.
With all the responsibilities left on her hands as a young single mother, she was afraid if she can sustain paying for this new obligation. But she was driven to do something worth it for herself and she did it anyway.

Fast forward, she has developed a good sense of discipline and the muscle to save for the future. She even got a new policy, this time for her beloved son. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

When the decisions we make forced us to change direction, GO and stand up for it. Be responsible of the outcome of that decision by not blaming, or passing on the obligation to your past and future generation.

You had the chance to take control when you could have but you didn’t. Now you have the power to make it right.

You don’t need to cut off being happy and stop enjoying life because everyone deserves that. You just need to accept your current situation and learn to be happy in a different and unique way.
