Pi Network Ventures has made its first investment in OpenMind, a company developing an operating system and open-source protocol for robots to think, learn, and work together—like Android for robots. This investment aligns with the goals of Pi Network Ventures: capturing more production on Pi and creating more Pi utility. Additional collaboration with OpenMind includes the completion of a proof of concept project where Pi Node operators can opt in to run AI-training computations for third-party organizations. The first deadline of the Grace Period that requires KYC application submission has been extended from September 30 to November 30, 2024.

The second and final deadline of the Grace Period, for completing migration to Mainnet, remains the same on December 31, 2024.

This extension provides Pioneers more time to submit their initial KYC applications for inclusivity within the overall 6-month Grace Period while maintaining community momentum toward completing Pi Network’s Open Network goals.

Migration Grace Period: A Strategic Step Towards Open Network

The network has reached over 13 million Pioneers who have passed KYC and over 6 million Pioneers who have migrated to Mainnet! Through our collective efforts, we’re progressing towards the Open Network goals. Keep in mind that the progress is not linear and has been accelerating historically.

Considering the ongoing Grace Period that started on July 1, 2024, act now to KYC and complete your Mainnet Checklist to join the millions of Pioneers already on the Mainnet!

As stated in the Pi2Day 2024 announcement, the 6 month KYC Grace Period and its rolling 6-month window (the “Grace Period”) was enacted as of July 1st, 2024! As defined and clarified in the 2021 Whitepaper, the Grace Period is necessary for preparing Pi for Open Network. During this period, Pioneers must submit their initial KYC identity verification application within the first 3 months and take all available actions to complete their KYC and Mainnet migration within 6 months.
