🌿 A New Chapter 🌿

When I became a mum of my youngest daughter now 3, I retrained as a mortgage adviser because I wanted a career that offered flexibility around family life. In those early days, I was often up through the night with a newborn and, in the same hours, studying, learning, and building experience. It wasn’t easy managing sleepless nights and solo parenting, but it gave me resilience and a deep empathy for other families navigating big financial decisions.

Over the past few years I’ve learned so much in this industry, and I’ve been blessed to work alongside supportive people at different points in my journey. Most recently, I’ve returned as self-employed with Vega, who have been extremely supportive, but the nature of self-employment doesn’t currently meet my financial needs as a solo parent.

So, for now, I’ll be stepping away from my career as a mortgage adviser and moving back into part time employment. It’s a bittersweet decision — I love this work and the clients I’ve served, but my priority is providing stability for my family.

This journey has shown me how important it is to have genuine support for parents, especially women, in balancing professional and family commitments. It’s a conversation I care deeply about and hope to contribute to more in the future.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way — clients, colleagues, mentors, and friends. šŸ’œ

Here’s to new beginnings, and to finding opportunities where family and career can thrive together.

Navigating the Changing Interest Rate Landscape

The interest rate market has and is shifting, and this could be great news for your property ownership goals! With rates falling and lenders easing affordability assessments, it’s a prime time to reassess your financial situation.

What This Means for You:
Interest Rate Renewals: If you’re up for renewal, you might secure a lower rate, reducing your monthly payments or assess if you qualify for a cash back. It’s a chance to reassess your mortgage options.
Debt Consolidation: Lower rates make it easier to consolidate existing debts, simplifying your finances and freeing up cash for savings or investments.
Buying Property: If you’re looking to buy a new home or investment property, lower interest rates and test rates can help you qualify more easily.
Property Cycle Opportunities: We’re in a favorable stage of the property cycle. This could be an ideal time to invest or expand your portfolio for long-term gains.

Curious about how these changes impact you? Whether renewing, consolidating debt, or buying, I’m here to help you navigate these opportunities.
Don’t miss your chance to take control of your financial future!

Tip of the Month: when interest rates decrease, you keep your mortgage repayments at the same level. This means that you can pay off your principal quicker and forms a buffer for when the interest rates increase in the future.

Not everyone can keep paying the same amount, and that’s okay! The most important thing is to find a way that works best for you.
