Where to start? Firstly, in no way am I a writer so excuse my punctuation.
I found Macrame 2018 by stumbling across a piece that literally had me in awe. I wanted it, I wanted to make it, I HAD to try. Ive always loved art, in all forms. Ive done my fair share of paintings on canvas, I've knitted, sketched, crocheted, and now I knot. I guess Im a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’, and I’ll take that! “Having all these skills is such a bore”, said no-one ever! Haha. What stands out for me is, Macrame makes me feel good. It brings a sense of calm over me. I think of nothing but whats in front of me, and I could knot for hours on end.
In the beginning I brought inexpensive supplies e.g Jute & h**p cord. I knotted and knotted, creating some really cool pieces, but I wanted to make sure this was something that would ‘stick’. It has. I then jumped straight into ordering hmmm, 4 boxes of cotton cord in all sizes lol and the rest is history.
Fast forward to this present day I have quite a bit of finished wallhangings, bags, clutches, coasters & plant hangers waiting for their forever home. This is basically how I got here, like right now, here. Macrame is an expensive hobby to have (as are all hobbies), and there was really no other option but to start selling. It made total sense to me! I buy and create, sell and repeat! This way I can continue to do what I love and not burn a hole in my pocket while doing it! I didn't start making ‘to sell’, its kinda just happened, after all, how many wallhangings can one have in their house! LOL Luckily, Ive made a few sales this year which has given me some confidence that there are people out there who appreciate this art as much as I do!
