Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Inspire Foundation Regional Launch, hosted by the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce.
What a fantastic initiative! The Foundation is supporting and empowering talented young people in our community, helping them pursue their dreams while inspiring others to believe that big goals are worth chasing.
It was incredibly special to watch some remarkable young people receive grants to help them take the next step in their journey.
The highlight of the afternoon was hearing Gilbert Enoka speak. There were so many nuggets of wisdom, but one message really stuck with me.
Success is built on three things:
🔺 Mindset
🔺 Skill set
🔺 Structure
His point was that while mindset and skill set are essential, structure is often the real superpower. It’s what keeps you moving forward when motivation fades and provides the foundation for long-term success.
It really resonated with me because, although my world is very different from elite sport, the same principle applies every day in my role as a mortgage adviser.
People often think getting a mortgage is simply about securing approval. But in reality, the right loan structure can make a huge difference. It can give you flexibility, save you interest, reduce financial stress, and support your goals for years to come.
As mortgage advisers, we can’t coach the All Blacks… 😄 but we can help build the financial structure that supports your own goals. And sometimes, that’s the difference between simply owning a home and having a plan that truly works for you.
A huge thank you to the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, the Nelson Tasman Inspire Foundation, and Gilbert Enoka for such an inspiring afternoon. I left with plenty to think about - and one very good reminder that great outcomes rarely happen by chance. They start with the right structure.
