🎉 Metro fares temporarily reduced by 50% from 1 April 🎉

We are delighted to confirm that half-price fares for Metro bus and ferry services in Greater Christchurch will come into effect for 3 months from Friday 1 April 2022. The 3-month fare reduction is a government initiative aimed to help ease the financial burden for Kiwis as the cost-of-living increases and is exciting and welcome news for many.

We are on track to have made all the appropriate adjustments necessary to have these 50% off fares ready for the 1 April start date. Customer are advised to board services and complete payment for their journey as they normally would, and the ticket machine will automatically charge the new correct price.
