Retail is not dead!

This smart retailer almost missed the opportunity to expand because their plans fell outside the “main bank’s boxes”.

They needed funding to expand the presence of their retail business. A great operator with a strong following, the owner had identified additional locations with excellent foot traffic, which presented an opportunity to reach new markets. However, despite their clear plans and a track record of success in their existing location, the bank was hesitant to support them.

We could see the quality of business management and potential in their plans. We stepped in to bridge the gap with $150,000 in funding at 70% LVR, backed by business assets and second mortgage security over residential property. With the Merx funding, our client has secured the new location and rolled out the expansion.
