Help4Nepal Rebuild Schools : Chundevi Ma Bi A project/plan to rebuild completely destroyed Chundevi School, around 650 students from poor background depend on the free education from villages there

Dear Everyone,
Namaste to you all from us, Sagarmatha Gurkha Nepalese Youth Community, Ashford, Kent. As we are aware that the devastating earthquake that shook the entire Nepal damaged Nepal not only structurally but also mentally weakened hundreds of thousands as many lost their lives, family, friends, houses, their food and clothing. Shree Chundevi Secondary School is in Thankot Chunikhel villa

ge,Ward No: 1. This school is located in the most remote part of Thankot. The earthquake totally destroyed almost 90% of the houses and the School building as well. Despite the village not being not very far from the capital geographically, it is one of the most neglected part. Consists of inhabitants of around 400 households all with very poor socio-economic status. they rely on traditional farming and labouring to support their families. There are around 650 students who attend this school from Thankot and remote areas of nearby districts. This basically is an education hub for the children from poor family background who cannot afford to pay schools fees as this is completely free schooling. Even the stationaries for the students, teachers and administrative bodies are provided by community support volunteers. The school runs classes from Nursery to the 10th std with 32 teachers in total. This school is in desperate need of help. We would like to request you all to join us to help those poor children by rebuilding the school. Our aim is to build a earthquake resistant School for those needy children from poor families. The school will be running the classes from temporary alternatives when this project will be happening as well. It's a bigger project than ones we have completed precociously therefore we need your help even more. Please be generous and help us raise finance for the project to happen. This project might take longer time as we do not have all the funds needed just yet so we will be completing tasks step by step.

*FIRST step will be to secure the area and make it free of Hazards as there still are various aftershocks.

*SECOND step will be clearing the remains of the old damaged building and getting the building site ready.

* THIRD step will be to get approval on the planning of the earthquake resistant building designed by approved architects and engineers.

* Then the start of the building will start, we will be building ONE room at a time and progressing on the project as per our financial position. No matter which part of the world you are in, Please help/support us for this good cause. If you would like to get more information or would like to speak to us directly, the details are below:

We are very thankful to a £5,000 donation by Clear Voice, the trading arm of Migrant Help.

The money was received by the Ashford-based Sagarmatha Gurkha Nepalese Youth Community at a fundraising lunch hosted by Migrant Help at its Dover offices on Friday, October 16.

Mr. Robert McCrea, Migrant Help’s CEO. He said: ā€œThis is such a worthy cause and I am very happy that Migrant Help is able to contribute to the rebuilding of the Chundevi school. Education is essential for the future of the young people of Nepal, many of whom lost their families, friends and homes few months ago. I hope that our donation will assist in alleviating at least some of their suffering. I salute the efforts of Nepalese youth community in Kent who are working tirelessly to make this project happen.ā€
