The Government of Nepal has introduced a major reform in the foreign investment framework by expanding sectors eligible for approval under the automatic route.

This is a positive step toward improving Nepal’s ease of doing business and attracting foreign capital.

Key highlights:
✅ Automatic FDI approval across multiple sectors
(including energy, tourism, IT, manufacturing, infrastructure, and services)
✅ No upper investment ceiling under the automatic route
✅ Relaxation of minimum investment thresholds in IT and digital sectors
