We’re proud to share that TCT – The Commodity Traders has been featured in a recent NOS Nieuwsuur investigation into large‑scale oil‑storage fraud in the Port of Rotterdam.
The report highlights a growing international problem: criminals using fake terminals, forged documents, and cloned websites to deceive traders into paying for non‑existent oil storage. Losses run into the millions, and the schemes are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
In the feature, our team at TCT explains how we work daily to identify fraudulent deals before money is lost, protect traders worldwide, and help restore trust in the global commodities market.
Through our collaboration with the Port of Rotterdam, Seaport Police, and industry partners, we’ve helped prevent over $1.3 billion in attempted fraud this year alone. Our platform, StorageSpoofing.nl, now tracks more than 1,400 fraudulent websites and continues to grow as new cases emerge.
We’re grateful to NOS Nieuwsuur for shining a light on this issue and for giving us the opportunity to share our mission:
protecting traders, exposing fraud, and safeguarding the integrity of the global energy market.
If you’re active in commodities trading, logistics, or energy markets, stay alert — and stay informed.
Together, we make the industry safer.
