OBASANJO IS WRITING HIS LAST LETTER
Have you noticed?
These days, Obasanjo is EVERYWHERE.
From birthday parties to book launches. From big global interviews to small, obscure podcasts. From huge presidential platforms to comedy shows.
He is telling his story. Loudly. Clearly. On his own terms.
He has written books. Many books. But he knows young Nigerians don't read anymore. So the old soldier has changed strategy — he is now telling his story in moving pictures, in jokes, in skits, in short clips that the TikTok generation cannot ignore.
And guess what? It is working.
Olusegun Obasanjo is skillfully writing how he wants to be remembered.
He wants the young ones to know the good he did. He wants them to know the history he shaped. That when tomorrow comes and we can no longer find him, the memory that will remain is the one he is giving us NOW — not just what they heard about what he did in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
Think about it.
This is arguably the most blessed Nigerian to have ever lived. A man who has ruled Nigeria 3 times. A man who ended the Civil War and kept Nigeria one. A man who went from prison to President. And he is still alive. Still strong mentally. Still sharp intellectually. Still self-aware enough to shape his own final narrative.
That is not just luck. That is grace. A blessing that 90% of people in this world will never have — to live long enough, and clear enough, to tell your own story before you go.
This is his last chapter, and he is holding the pen himself.
May we all have a life this fulfilled 🙏
