For those who borrow money with interest and when it is time to pay, they start saying that the lender is not a licensed money lender, know that you are absolutely wrong.
The law has changed
In the case of BEN CHIDOKA VS FIRST CITY FINANCE LTD (2013) 5NWLR (PT 1346) 144 AT 162-164, the Supreme Court, per Coomasie JSC said that a man who, with his eyes open, enters into a contract of money lending with interest, is bound by the contract he entered. He cannot plead the Money Lenders Law. He is bound by the agreement to repay the money and interest.
