THE CURSES OF DIVORCEMENT:

"Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." — Mark 10:9 (NKJV)
Marriage is not merely a contract between two people—it is a covenant established by God. When a husband and wife choose to walk away from that covenant without God's direction, the pain often reaches far beyond the couple. It can affect children, families, and future generations.
The Bible reveals God's heart concerning marriage:
"For the LORD God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one's garment with violence." — Malachi 2:16 (NKJV)
Divorce leaves wounds that money cannot heal. It can replace peace with bitterness, trust with fear, and unity with loneliness. The enemy delights in broken homes because strong families build strong communities and honor God.
However, the greatest curse is not divorce itself—it is a heart that refuses repentance, forgiveness, and obedience to God. Jesus taught that forgiveness, humility, and sacrificial love are the foundation of a lasting marriage.
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." — Ephesians 4:32
When couples allow pride, unforgiveness, anger, and unfaithfulness to remain in their hearts, they open the door to destruction. But when they invite Christ into their marriage, healing becomes possible.
"Love suffers long and is kind... bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." — 1 Corinthians 13:4, 7–8
If your marriage is under attack today, do not give up too quickly. Pray together. Seek godly counsel. Choose forgiveness over revenge, and love over pride. God is still able to restore what seems broken.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." — Psalm 147:3
Prayer
Heavenly Father, strengthen every marriage that is under attack. Remove bitterness, pride, and unforgiveness. Fill every home with Your love, peace, and wisdom. Restore broken relationships and help every husband and wife to honor the covenant You established. In Jesus' name, Amen.
