Prudential Zenith Life Insurance (PZL) has exceeded the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) new minimum capital requirement by ₦22.1 billion, placing the company at 191% above the threshold and among Nigeria’s most capitalised life insurers under the newly issued licences.

This follows the industry-wide recapitalisation under the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA), which has reshaped the sector toward stronger and more resilient operators.

PZL was among the first 43 insurers to be recertified, receiving its new licence on 5 August 2026.

Backed by Prudential plc and reporting a FY2025 Profit After Tax of ₦3.2 billion, the company’s capital position reflects its ability to meet long-term obligations and maintain consistent claims performance while supporting ongoing product and digital development.

The development underscores the continued strengthening of Nigeria’s insurance industry and its long-term growth outlook.

There’s another syllabus we’re all constantly learning from the one called life.

Whatever the lesson, being prepared makes all the difference.
