I never believe I could stop writing my sales in a book....until I discovered a better way.

All through my years of running my business, I always keep record using my book and pen...

Is it provision, I have the book.

Is it soft drinks and pure water, I have the book.

Is it garri, sugar and groundnut, I have the book.

Is it detergent and the likes, I have the book.

There is nothing I sell that I didn't keep record of it.

I just love keeping records😄

When people see me writing, they will say: " you should have become a banker" and I will laugh

But sincerely, this writing thing wasn't easy oooo, especially when you have to write out your daily sales, add it up at the end of the month and subtract it from your total cost price to know your profit

Mehhhhhh....😂

But not anymore, I now use simple retail software to;

✅ Record all product bought.
✅ Fix the prices of my product and know my profit.
✅ I now sell in bulk and retail with my mobile phone and have real time result.
✅ I can easily determine my profit now without going back and front with paper work.
✅ I have my debtors name stored in the cloud without fear of loosing it.

The benefit of using a cloud based automated software is sweeeeeet.

I wish I knew about it earlier, my sleepless night all this years for no dey.

All the same, it is better now than never.

Life no suppose hard when you find the right path...

HOW TO USE GOOGLE SHEET FOR YOUR STOCK MANAGEMENT.

Amaka is a small business owners who sells loaves of bread in her neighbour hood.

She buys different sizes of bread from the bakery to sell.

She has a book where she writes the number of bread bought but finds it brain tasking to know how many bread of each size she has actually sold.

How can she solve this task without having to manually record this in a book?

With the Google sheet on her smart phone, she can automate her inventory and reduce the task on her brain.

How to locate your Google sheet..?

-Open a Gmail account.

-Go to your browser and type google.com and click enter.

-Your email account will open in a desktop format.

-Search for your image profile. Besides it you will see 9 dots.

-Click on the 9 dots and locate "Drive" icon.

-Tap on it and it will open up your drive.

-Tap on the + New, scroll down and select Google sheet.

-Select the email account you want to use and your Google sheet will open up.

Seek the help of a data entry expert to create a simple stock-in-out-balance template for your inventory and your business becomes easy to handle.

I read a story about a sister starting her business with her life savings and having it went down the drain because she put her cousin there to help her.

She did this based on love and trust but..

The cousin siphoned the money and still held family meeting on top her head.

If you want your business to thrive, avoid family members especially when you are just starting out.

You will not be able to react the way you should if anything goes wrong. Remember the same blood runs through you.

If you see say alternative no dey than to put a family member, let there be an accountability check for every money that comes in and goes out.

Run your business with your family member the way you would with someone who isn't your family member.

Clearly state your do's and don't and stand by it.

A business is meant to thrive and not to crash.

Remove sentiments and what people will say if you want to win in your business.

There are lots of free software that helps you run your business without stress even when you aren't physically present.

Deploy these softwares and let your mind be at peace

Do this for your mental health and the growth of your business.

I sought a help in my small business and I told a friend to help get a sales assistant.

When she brought someone to me in the morning around 8am, I was not comfortable immediately I saw her but I wanted her to prove me wrong

So, I gave her a test to come back in few minutes later when I am done with my food. She agreed and left.

Do you know when she came back?

Try and guess...

Around 5pm in the evening. Imagine somebody I told to come back In few minutes.

She failed the test woefully.

She failed in the aspect of punctuality

She failed in showing her potential as a deligent staff to be.

She wasn't smart to ask for a wait when I asked her to come back.

She allowed me to reach a conclusion about her personality even when I hardly knew who she was.

Do not send a wrong signal about yourself to others.

Be smart, diligent, and show yourself valuable.

I hope this speaks to someone.
