FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE TIPS AND PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY FROM FIRE DAMAGE THIS FESTIVE SEASON

1. Always put off appliances when not in use to avoid the voltage surge that may follow when power is restored after an outage.

2. Do not overload electrical sockets to prevent sparks that may lead to fire.

3. Do not use phones in the kitchen.
They are not only distracting, but can cause a fire.

4. Do not smoke at bed time.
Half-lit butts can cause fire in contact with beddings.

5. Put off phones while in filling stations as mobile phones are emitters of small amount of electromagnetic charges that could cause an explosion in contact with petrol or fumes.

6. Do not top up fuel in your generator when it’s on.
Also, keep your generator in an open space for cross ventilation and not in an enclosed area.

7. Keep the candle on a candle stand.
Do not leave them beside curtains or clothes or any platform made from wood. The candle may fall off and set fire on nearby objects.

8. Do not be emergency engineer or electrician.
Avoid fixing electrical faults personally when you do not have the skill. Violating the basic rule of aligning like charges can lead to a spark which may result in fire.
