YOU FEEL IT TOO?

The feeling of being constantly overwhelmed is one that most young persons are familiar with.

You know, when there's so much for you to do, so much you want to become, so much you know you can be if you give attention to yourself, so much information flying around—so much of everything and you're not even sure where or how to begin.

Nkechi has recently transitioned into tech and is earning big buck in one of those fintech companies.

Tunde, as you heard was leaving the country soon to further his studies.

Sola is here on the blue app, showing up daily, travelling the world and giving speeches on climate change while conversing with world leaders.

Alison just posted for the third time this week—or was it the fourth—her trip to a new country (meanwhile all you know from her IG bio is that she's an influencer and entrepreneur. You're still not sure what or who she's influencing for. But all that matters is that it's paying the bills na, bah?)

Helen.

How could you forget Helen? She just posted a reel of her husband and their two year old— beautiful family. From what you can recall from the pictures, they're always smiling and eating out.

Then there's....you sit and recall several others.

You know these not because you've spoken with any of these persons of late but because soshio-medium wee nur allow you to sit down and binge the internet in peace 🙄.

Phewww!

But life doesn't have to be this way.

A constant tussle between what you're doing and what others are doing. A constant comparisons between where you are and where the next person is.

God did not create you to be in a constant rat race—chasing after shadows.

God created you and gave you a unique syllabus tailored and designed just for you. God's Word says "I know the thoughts I think towards YOU"...very specific.

There's a path He has designed for you. You're not an upgrade. You're an original. And no one can do what he has designed for you to do like you.

You've heard this before but I should probably remind you again, you're not in a competition with anyone. You're here on earth to become the best version of what and who God has created you to be.

So find yourself, your identity, your purpose and calling in God. Learn early to look up and forward and not around. God is telling a story with your life. He's making things beautiful in His time.

The World Is Waiting For YOU!!!

This is a subtle reminder to believe in yourself.

Often times it's easy to become overwhelmed with the not-so positive happenings around us and forget that no matter how many times we fail to get it right, "we always can."

In moments when we miss it or fail to achieve our goals, thoughts questioning our genius and ability to really change the trajectory of our lives can become real loud.

However, inherent in each and every one of us is the ability to dream and breathe life into those dreams. So no matter how many times you get thrown down, don't stay there. Get up! Fail forward. There's success in you.

As the famous quote from Stephen Hawking says, “However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.”

Yes you can!

It's been a long time. Hope you're all doing great!

5 Critical Reasons Why Small Businesses Fail And How To Avoid Them

If you're just into the first few years of commencing your business or if you intend to start one, pay keen attention to this. 9 in every 10 startups fail— sorry to break the news that way. While this is a bitter pill to swallow, an understanding of this will better position you for success.

I'll be handling just 2 today:

1) Poor Cash Flow
Business owners are familiar with the term "profit" but only a few grasp what we mean when we say cash flow. Just the way the customers are always right, in business, cash is King.

82% of the time, poor cash flow management is where the problem truly lies. Now several factors ranging from your industry to even the stage of growth you're in affects your cash flow.

Nonetheless, one key is binding to all small businesses irrespective of your industry or size: you can tell you have a cash flow problem when your expenses exceed your cash. More on cash flow and how to improve it later.

2) Inadequate Funding
You probably got your "ahan" moment seeing this. We know no one goes into business with the intention to fail, however, research has it that about 79% of businesses fail because they start out with too little money.

If like most entrepreneurs you had to raise your startup capital yourself. Perhaps through your little savings and loans from friends and the bank, you'll understand how hard it can be keeping the business afloat during the initial years of commencement. It's even much harder when you have employees on your payroll.

It's not just about managing your books now, there's only so much you can do when you're short on cash. Inadequate funding could very well be the reason why you've been unable to expand, automate your processes, and improve operations.

3) Lack Of A Concrete Business Plan
Let's get this straight, you need all the passion you can muster when starting out. However, passion alone won't give you a share of the market.

In depth knowledge and research into the business, and the environment you intend operating is the basis for a successful business.

How can you achieve this, by investigating the market and coming up with a solid and realistic business plan. About 78% of highly passionate business owners fail simply because they lack a well-developed business plan.

Your plan is expected to outline measurable and achievable goals for the business. A good business plan should also be able to answer the "how" questions and provide a road map for surmounting areas of threats and weaknesses.

It should also proffer possible solutions to problems that may arise. A good business plan will help figure out the inputs and costs required for the business, it also will outline strategies and time frames that should be implemented and met.

All things being equal, your business plan is your success plan. One that provides you with pointers on what to do at different projected time frames. Unfortunately, many business owners ignore this and take off without a solid success strategy at hand.

In subsequent posts, I'll be listing out the remaining two and going further into how you can scale through these problems.

I hope you got value? I'd love to know which of these points resonated the most with you. Feel free to ask your questions if you have any.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY..

A big shout out to every lady out there making a difference in the way she knows best.⁣

The stay-at home mum's building homes and raising great future leaders. The single lady focused on that one burning passion.

The wife following with unrivaled loyalty to her man. The amazon changing the narrative and proving herself in a male-dominated clime. The young lady mending a broken heart yet deciding to spread nothing but love.⁣

Y'all are the real MVPs. You should be celebrated everyday and in every way. ⁣

You may not be cheered like some other are, the spot light might not be on that seemingly inconsequential yet significant work you do. ⁣

But always remember, you color the world and make it a better place for all of us. ⁣Don't let nobody tell you otherwise. The celebration may end, what you contribute to humanity won't.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU HIT THE PLAY BUTTON.⁣

A wise man once said "read to the end, there's something you don't want to miss somewhere down there..."⁣

Hey guys, welcome to the year we've all been waiting for. 2020 is finally plus one and we can't but be more grateful for that.⁣

So here's a quick heads up before we press the play button and days roll into months.⁣

I know we know this, but here's a quick reminder all the same "2021 isn't going to be any different from 2020 if we don't work towards it."⁣

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, here are a few things we should keep tabs on in order to have the 2021 of our dreams. I'll l do well to keep it brief.⁣

1) Dream big: Dreams are free. Perhaps one of the only things you don't get to pay for in Nigeria.⁣

Beyond being free, dreams are like self fulfilling prophecies. They create an energy that causes those mental pictures to externalize.⁣

If you must know, big moves have their root in dreams. You may not accomplish all you've set out to do but you almost too certainly will never hit the jackpot with greatness if you don't dare to dream big.⁣

2) Execute More : research has it that only 5% of the population possess sufficient mental ability, self-discipline and the will to follow through to see to the end of a thing.⁣

Be a part of that 5%. Quit being an armchair philosopher. As Gary John so beautifully put it, "get our of your head and into your life."⁣

While dreams are great, no one ever became anything by dreaming alone. ⁣

So when you're done shouting "amen" to the preacher's blessings, when you're done reading another copy of Brian Tracy's book, make sure you get off the couch and go to work.⁣

You worried that you're not good enough? Don't be deterred, even the big names are. As daddy John Obidi will say "use what you have for what you have is plenty"⁣

3) Go for knowledge: I can't stress this enough. In 2021, in all your getting, get "understanding". ⁣

Separate yourself from the mob shouting "there's nothing moving in this country" and become a part of the elite class who have very well learnt how to rule using the knowledge currency.⁣

Do you want relevance, visibility, influence, and even more money this year, then be ready to do the work by investing in yourself. ⁣

After all as one wise man somewhere will say "you're your greatest investment." ⁣

4)Be Financially Intelligent: no one prepared us for the huge blow 2020 threw at us and our businesses. The naira devaluation, the embargo on trade, the laying off of several workers, the inevitable business instability that occurred as a result of the lock down.⁣

Nevertheless, the few who knew the Rules of Wealth were able to weather through. ⁣

As the Holy book so righteously advices us, we must learn to lay up out treasures in such a way that they become untouchable by moth and rust.⁣

This is the year to be financially intelligent. Have a budget and stick to it. Track your expenses and cut down on excess miscellaneous. Diversify your income stream, save less, invest more, spend on necessities before luxuries.⁣

Invest in high income skills and be willing to pay for it. Read books and see less seasonal movies.⁣

Speaking of reading books. I'm currently on one, and I'll be sharing the lessons with you pretty soon. I'm hoping to make it a weekly review.⁣

The bulk of my reading this year will be centered on self-development, business and finance. So if you're interested in those you should sure keep an eye on this space. ⁣

That'll be all for now. I hope the welcome note helped.⁣ If it did, don't forget to like and share. I'll love to also hear your take in the comment section.⁣

Once again, wishing you a happy new year. Cheers to a fulfilling 2020.⁣

Now press play... ⁣

KEEP SHOWING UP!

So some time back, I got free access to a course I was routinely vying for—one that would have cost me at least a few hundred dollars to purchase.

Of course at that point, I began to feel like I had made it in life. In my mind o, I was literally on my way to making the Forbes billionaires list. This blow, ahh, we blow well.

Back to my story. Three months after that time, the only visible progress I had made was that I had gone through the course. Asides that, nothing more.

I had done nothing with the new knowledge gained, I had made no efforts to put into effect what I had learnt, and I had definitely not been able to monetize my new skill.

Of course my bank account didn't recognize my new found knowledge as an achievement. And so it didn't shake body."

I, like many of us, got too busy with life. Busy with trying to meet up with immediate needs that I ultimately sacrificed what could have been the possibility for future growth and returns.

Before we begin to point fingers, this is unfortunately the story with a lot of persons here.

For some, it might not have been an online course, it might have been another freebie. Something that had the potential to raise our stakes higher, but because we were to preoccupied, we laid waste the opportunity.

What's even more sad is that, half the time, we have legitimate reasons for not "doing more", legitimate reasons keeping us from breaking free from familiar cycles.

For some, it's responsibility, for others it's their work load. I mean the average Nigerians has to work beyond the regular 9 to 5 before they can comfortably meet up with their their financial obligations.

For many others, it's the depressing 3rd world limitations like power issues, or access to good internet.

The truth is, while our reasons may be quite valid, success had never promised to come on a bed of roses.

What's my point exactly? If we must defeat the gravitational pull of mediocrity and an average life, then we must be willing to go the extra mile.

We live in a world where information is literally scattered across the internet street. But It's never been about what you know, as much as what you do with what you know.

The funny thing is, sometimes , the people making waves are not half as good as you are, but they keep executing and showing up.

You on the other hand, you keep learning and waiting for the time when everything would be perfect before you close that deal, write that book, or start that business.

I'm reminded of the biblical character Moses. Moses had a rod with which he could do wonders. You wouldn't be wrong if you called it "the wonder rod."

This rod could literally part the red sea, heal the sick and change form at his command.

However, Moses didn't part the red sea just by owning the rod. He had to put it to go the extra mile by putting the rod to work.

What do you have at your disposal that you're toying with carelessly? Why do you keep making excuses not to put yourself out there? When will you begin ticking off your career goals?

If you listen to Paul fohs you'll have heard him talk about "availability urestics." No matter how many times you hear him say this, if you don't show up , you won't see results.

Get up, show up strong. It's not too late to unshade that genius. Do it scared and do it now.

When's the best time to take a decision? Now! Right? Well shocker, the best time to take a decision was yesterday. Today is the next best time.

The year hasn't ended yet, show up strong! The easiest way to see results is to execute. You can begin now. I'm cheering you on!

Don't forget to like and share if you got value. I'll also love to hear your thoughts at the comment section.

YOU CAN DITCH THIS LADY !!

We are all too familiar with her subtle and inviting voice.⁣

She calls herself different things each time. This makes it hard to recognize her voice each time.⁣

She comes with valid reasons and we help but accept that most times, her reasons are logical and practical.⁣

She crafts the word "You can't do it" in a thousand and one appealing way. And we accept her lie.⁣

She says things like "why don't you keep this aside for now?" "you know you're tired, you should rest a little." "You're not good enough." "Maybe some other time." "You'll never get it even if you tried."⁣

She keeps speaking, giving you a thousand and one reason why you should leave that tasks.⁣

Anyways I'll have you know, she goes by the name "Excuses".⁣ Ditch this lady!

According to Paul Foh, "the sinister thing about excuses is that most times they are valid."⁣

The fact is, you'll have to take sides between results and excuses this week. You can't have both. It's either one or the other.⁣

There's no better time to get busy than now.⁣ "Now" is a good time to start.

Today is Monday. A new opportunity to smash those goals...to have those results you admire. Don't give in to your excuses. No matter how valid they are.⁣

If you've decided to live above every situation this week affirm "I rise above excuses" in the comment section. Congratulations! Let's take this ride together.⁣

Don't forget to like, share and comment. I'll love to hear what you think.⁣

Happy new week. I'm cheering you on.💕💕⁣

22/06/2020

Hello, Monday!!! ⁣

If you own a business gather here, something is cooking.

So I've discovered that one common mistake business owners make is equating their cash balance for their profits.⁣

This is totally wrong. They are two different things entirely and mistaking one for the other can be very costly for that your business.⁣

A highly profitable business can run out of cash. In the same vein, a robust cash flow isn't a clear indication that the business is making profits.⁣

You must know the implication of the both on your business if long term sustainability is your target.⁣

In subsequent posts I'll be showing us key differences between Cash/Cashflow and Profit, their implication on your business and what you should do to improve both.⁣

This series will be fire! If you're interested in it type "more" in the comment section.⁣

Tag your friends and anyone you know who runs a business. They shouldn't miss this.⁣

Moreso, since you're someone's life saver, don't forget to like and share this post. ⁣

Till next time. I remain your go to plug when it comes to Business and Finance.⁣

Dear business owner,

I’m cheering you on because you’ve finally launched that business you’ve always dreamed of.

And what’s even better is the fact that the bank alerts are ringing, there are new orders, you’ve been getting massive testimonials and referrals, you even have a few extra bucks to put others on your payroll. And honestly, I rejoice with you.

I’ll have you know, though, that the worst thing that could happen right now to your business isn’t a huge drop in sales or even an extension of the lockdown. Now you’re asking what then can go wrong?

Statistics shows that 8 in 10 business fold up due to poor accounting.

Simply put if you keep ignoring your money matters and your numbers or leaving it to chance, it could cost you a lot.

You don’t have to be part of that statistics. Get professional help today. I’m willing to help you fix your business finance.
