Raised by a single mum with no maids, I valued how important it was to be responsible at home even as a child. I grew up seeing my uncles and aunt share chores equally. I would do chores like sweeping, washing plates and making sure I get myself food to eat even as a child. After my mum had my younger brother(in the picture) , she taught me how to change diapers, feed him and take care of him.
My mum worked a lot, her maternity leave was so short and she couldn’t do everything herself. I had to step up to assist her.
So today I join my voice in the campaign to remind boys and men around the world of how important is at home just as it is at work. During this virtual(lock down) period, let us share responsibilities equally in our homes.
