It’s a hard truth: Most NGOs don't lose grants because their projects are bad—they lose because they fail the Eligibility Test.

In 2026, donors are more strict than ever. If you want to move from "Rejected" to "Shortlisted," you must master these 3 basics:

Legal Registration: Is your NGO registered in an AU member state? Do you have the current 2026 compliance docs?

The "Financial Health" Check: Most large grants now require 2–3 years of external audits. Without them, you are often disqualified instantly.

Project Alignment: Stop "grant chasing." If the funder wants climate action and you do education, you are wasting your time.
