Tuesday: — THE ENTREPRENEUR'S NUMBERS
Before you spend money to “look like a successful business,” understand the concept of ROI - Return on Investment.
As an accountant and entrepreneur, I don't just ask:
“Can I afford this?”
I also like to ask:
“What value am I getting from paying for this?”
That's one of the things that separates intentional spending from impulsive spending.
Now we can start talking about return on investment.
Of course, not every investment in yourself will produce a direct naira return.
You can't always put a price tag on increased confidence, improved knowledge or better presentation.
But the ROI question is still useful:
“Is this expenditure helping me become, perform or present better—or am I simply spending because I can?”
This is particularly important for entrepreneurs.
We can easily confuse looking successful with actually being financially successful.
Your business can have beautiful packaging, & stunning branding while your cash flow is suffering behind the scenes. Please don't do that to yourself.
Let's learn to enjoy the beautiful things without losing financial discipline.
Now that's an entrepreneur I want to see. 😎📊
