CG NFSS Lauds Senate For Passing NFSS Bill

Background

The Commander General of the Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS, Ambassador Dr Joshua Adewole Osatimehin has commended the Senate for finally passing for the third time the NFSS Bill.

Ambassador Dr Osatimehin gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on the NFSS Bill.

He therefore appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sign the Bill into law

According to him, the Bill when signed into law will further strengthen the nation’s internal security of Nigeria’s forested region.

He stated that the move would equally enhance the actualization of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration.

Ambassador Dr Osatimehin who thanked the 10th Senate for its determination for ensuring that all Nigerians most especially those at the grassroots live in peace and unity urged the House of Representatives to equally endorse the Bill.

“I want to use this opportunity to appeal to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ to consider the Bill unanimously endorsed by the two Houses of the National Assembly by ascending to the HFSS Bill without delay because this will strengthen the internal security of our dear country, Nigeria most especially within the forest and Nigeria’s forest being the least police forest area needed to be secured not only to secure lives and property of the citizens but to enhance food security and boost the country’s agriculture for national economic development”, He emphasized.

In his words”in fact, one of the Senators said the Bill is long overdue because the Bill will strengthen Nigeria’s internal security of every Nigerians most especially those living on rural areas and reaffirmed that this is the oath of allegiance to that they all sweared to uphold to enable Nigeria strengthened her security for the peace, unity and development of the country at every point in time “.

Ambassador Dr Osatimehin therefore advised Officers and Men of NFSS nationwide to keep the flag flying and continue to compliment the efforts of other formal security agencies in safeguarding lives and property of all Nigerians.
