EPF presently has more over 14 million members, with total contributions exceeding RM800 billion and total assets under administration approaching a trillion ringgit.

According to Nurhisham Hussein, chief strategy officer of the Employees Provident Fund(EPF), Malaysia's largest pension fund's early withdrawals to alleviate the financial pain of members reeling from the fallout of Covid-19 have severely depleted their retirement savings, leaving only 3% of members who can afford to retire.😱
