THE SECRET BEHIND NATIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
National economic development starts at home. And as a nation, we must prioritize the economic empowerment of households, especially in rural areas.
In particular, addressing food insecurity is paramount to promoting financial independence among households, which will, in turn, contribute to national economic growth.
Hunger is the economic parasite. For instance , most people residing in rural communities fail to purchase fertilizers due to financial short falls as they spend much of their money on buying food for their surval. This leads them to inadequate crop harvests. And food is the first priority out of daily budget, which consume much of financial resources.
Now, if these households are provided with opportunities of access to agricultural inputs and microfinance loans for farming and for venturing various enterprises, they can gradually grow financially and secure food for the whole year.
Reaching at this point, these people will minimize their expenses on food and invest more finance in agri-businesses and other industries. As time goes by, the population as a whole, will build up the financial wall, and embrace the Malawi's 2063 Vision.
For this sentiment, Mthetsa Njala Community Initiative (MNCI) is committed to addressing these challenges and supporting household food security and economic independence. We believe that by supporting Malawi at the household level, we can achieve the goals set forth in Malawi's Vision 2063 agenda.
Your support can make a difference and help in the implementation of Mthetsa Njala Initiative.
