The Lesotho Federation of the Informal Traders Associations (LEFITA) will proudly participate in the panel discussions during the Urban October 2025 National Dialogue, advocating for β Decent Work and Economic Growth. StreetNet , United Nations Development Programme - UNDP, European Union in Lesotho
Our Negotiation Team will contribute to the conversation under the National Urban Policy development framework, focusing on inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities that support informal traders, MSMEs, and marginalized communities.
We will engage in discussions around these key questions:
1οΈβ£ How can the housing sector be developed in an inclusive, safe, and sustainable way to meet the needs of the growing urban population?
2οΈβ£ How can cities build resilient infrastructureβsuch as parks, wetlands, and green roofsβto mitigate the impacts of climate change?
3οΈβ£ How can urban planning contribute to economic development and job creation?
As LEFITA, we continue to advocate for policies that promote decent livelihoods, empower women and youth, and integrate informal traders into the national development agenda.
