RETIREMENT IS A DAY WE MUST ALL PREPARE FOR.
Charles de Gaulle said, "Old age is a shipwreck". But guess what? Once you prepare, you create a shock absorber to support you during the period of the shipwreck.
In our part of the world, in most cases, we are often happy when we receive a letter of employment; but sad, sick or in our worst moment when we receive a letter or news of our retirement. WHY???
It is observed, we mostly do not welcome retirement news because of very limited or no preparations for such time. The lack of or limited preparation is sometimes as a result of conditions created for us beyond our control or because we failed to save up for the rainy days even in the midst of the many opportunities. Whatever the case, retirement is a MUST. Note that it may come voluntarily (when yourself request it as planned) or involuntarily (when policy, sicknesses, or some disabilities invoke it). Retirement is inevitable. Hence, embrace it, plan for it and make your old age a moment of rest, entertainment and reflection of good memories.
