ERDI hosts Mid-term Retreat in Salayea, Lofa County

Efficient Research and Development Institute (ERDI) INC is a non-governmental organization based on Harley Street in Deakehmien Community in Ganta Nimba County, Nimba County. The organization holding on to its mission, envisages an improve societal growth and development characterized by holistic approaches hereby impacting every sector of life for the greatest good for all, ERDI hosts a midterm retreat in salayea City, Salayea district Lofe County. The organization also have sub-offices in B**g, Bomi and Grand Gedeh Counties respectively. The retreat started on July 20, 2026 on the Compound of Camp for Peace in salayea City, Lofa County.
The intensive three days retreat brought together EERDI’s staff, County Coordinators, the Ministry of Youth and Sports cadets and local government representative.
The mid-term retreat is intended to review the organization’s five years strategic plan that was developed since 2023 and some special policies like personnel, financial, gender, trafficking in person, environmental and many others. The retreat was sponsored by All We Can, a UK group partnering with ERDI.
As the team from ERDI arrived on the Camp for Peace compound in salayea, Mr. Ben K. Gorlema the Commissioner for Salayea district in Lofa County, and a member of the board of trustee for Camp for Peace welcome the team, and praised ERDI for choosing Camp for Peace facility to host such a wonderful retreat. He ended his praises by saying,” I know how it takes to travel with such group of people from Nimba here in Salayea for three days activities in this global crisis face by NGOs and INGOs now a day, I wish you all a good stay”.
Mr. Daniel Nya Gboe the executive director for ERDI described taking the mid-term retreat to the Compound of Camp for Peace in Salayea, Lofa County as a milestone when it comes to building partnership and networking with other non-governmental organizations in Liberia. Speaking at the retreat, Mr. Gboe praised ERDI’s Staff and volunteers for what he called hard work and commitment to ERDI over the years. He added that he’s glad that every team member is actively involve with the revision of these critical policies and our strategy plan for broader knowledge. He ended up by saying ERDI is a Liberian own organization as such, the Social Enterprise should by priority to each team members for sustainability and ownership.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports republic of Liberia CADETs assigned at ERDI through the Ministry’s Cadet Program refer to the mid-term retreat as a strange and a capacity building activity. According to the cadets assigned to ERDI through the office of Nimba County Youth and Sports, interactive mid-term retreat was the first of its kind for them and it serves as a job preparation for them as well.
The retreat ended with a bond- fire or camp fire where participants sat around fire pile to reflect and shared their individual experience for peer learning. This session was also exciting to the participants, especially Mr. Ben K. Gorlema the Commissioner of Salayea district who thrillingly explained some stories of the district and the loving people of salayea and Lofa as well.
