Ajith Fernando has obtained the full corporate membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors on successful completion of his Assessment of Professional Competence
in July 2012 . This professional membership had entitled him to use the designation MRICS, an internationally recognized and respected mark of excellence and integrity. His carrier in the valuation profession commenced in 19

75 on successful completion of his Diploma in Valuation at Ceylon Technical College Colombo. Having worked as a Valuation Inspector for 2 years in the Government Valuation Department, in 1978 he proceeded to United Kingdom to read for the B. Degree in Estate Management at South Bank University. On successful completion of the above degree he returned to Sri Lanka in 1982.
