The ceremony to open Alfred Duraiappa Playground, developed with the financial assistance of the Government of India, was held today in Jaffna, under the patronage of President Mairhripala Sirisena

ඉන්දීය රජයේ මුල්‍ය අනුග්‍රහයෙන් සංවර්ධනය කරන ලද යාපනයේ ඇල්ෆඩ් දුරෙයිඅප්පා ක්‍රීඩාංගණය විවෘත වෙනුවෙන් පැවැති උත්සවය අද (18) පෙරවරුවේ ජනාධිපති ගරු මෛත්‍රීපාල සිරිසේන මැතිතුමාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් යාපනයේදී පැවැත් විණි.

ඉන්දීය අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය නරේන්ද්‍ර මෝදි මහතා ද චන්ද්‍රිකා තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ මෙම අවස්ථාව ඇමතූ අතර, ජාත්‍යන්තර යෝගා දිනය වෙනුවෙන් ක්‍රීඩා අමාත්‍යාංශ විසින් සංවිධානය කළ විශේෂ වැඩසටහනක් ද මෙහිදී පැවැත්වුණි. පාසල් දරුවන් පන්දහසකගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පැවති එම වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව ඉන්දියාවේ නව දිල්ලි නුවර පාසල් සිසුන් 11,000 ගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පැවති වැඩසටහන ද මෙහිදී චන්දි්‍රකා තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ සම්බන්ධ කෙරිණි.

இந்திய அரசாங்கத்தின் உதவியின் கீழ் புனர்நிர்மாணம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள யாழ் அல்பிரட் துரையப்பா விளையாட்டரங்கை திறந்துவைக்கும் நிகழ்வு இன்று (18) முற்பகல் ஜனாதிபதி கௌரவ மைத்ரிபால அவர்களின் தலைமையில் யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் இடம்பெற்றது.

இந்திய பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி அவர்களும் செய்மதி தொழிநுட்பத்தினூடாக இந்த நிகழ்வில் உரையாற்றியதுடன், சர்வதேச யோகா தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு விளையாட்டு அமைச்சினால் ஒழுங்கு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்த விசேட நிகழ்வும் இதன்போது இடம்பெற்றது. பாடசாலை மாணவர்களின் பங்குபற்றுகையுடன் நடைபெற்ற இந்த நிகழ்வுடன் இணைந்ததாக இந்தியாவின் புதுடில்லி நகரில் 11000 பாடசாலை மாணவர்களின் பங்குபற்றுகையுடன் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்வும் இங்கு செய்மதி தொழிநுட்பத்தினூடாக தொடர்புபடுத்தப்பட்டது.

The Esala Perahera in Kandy is one of the oldest and grandest of all Buddhist festivals in Sri Lanka

The Esala Perahera in Kandy is one of the oldest and grandest of all Buddhist festivals in Sri Lanka,

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවෙහි මහනුවර නගරයේ වාර්ෂිකව පවත්වන්නාවූ සම්ප්‍රදායික මහෝත්සවයකි, සෙංකඩගල පෙරහැර මංගල්‍යයය.

මෙම මංගල්‍ය්‍ය දළදා මාලිගාව සහ හතර මහා දේවාල මගින් සංවිධානය කෙරේ.
ඇසළ පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයෙන් ඇරඹෙන ඇසල මංල්‍යයේ වඩාත්ම ජනප්‍රිය අංගය නිකිණි මස පවත්වන්නාවූ රන්දෝලි පෙරහැරයි. මෙම උළෙල, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට අනන්‍ය වූ සංඛේතයක් බවට පත් වී ඇත.

මෙය නර්තනයන්ගෙන් සහ අගනා ලෙස සරහූ හස්තීන්ගෙන් සමන්විත වූ බෞද්ධ උළෙලකි.මෙහි ගිනි බෝල කරුවන්ගේ නර්තන, කස කරුවන්, උඩරට නර්තන සහ අනෙකුත් විවිධ සංස්කෘතික නර්තනයන් ඇතුලත් වේ.පෙරහැරේ අලි ඇත්තු අධික ලෙස වියදම් කර නිමවූ මනරම් වස්ත්‍රයන්ගෙන් සැරසෙති.

මෙම උළලෙහි නිමාව සනිටුහන් වනුයේ නිකිණි පසළොස්වක දිනයේ පවත්වන සම්ප්‍රදායික දිය කැපීමේ මංගල්‍යයයෙනි.

featuring dancers, jugglers, musicians, fire-breathers, and lavishly decorated elephants. This is held in Esala (July or August) which is the month that is believed to commemorate the first teaching given by the Buddha after he attained enlightenment.

The Kandy Esala Perahera lasts for ten days while various festivities can be witnessed right throughout. The Sinhalese term ‘Perahera’ means a parade of musicians, dancers, singers, acrobats and various other performers accompanied by a large number of caparisoned Tuskers and Elephants parading the streets in celebration of a religious event.

The Esala Perahera in Kandy is celebrated to honour the Sacred Tooth Relic and the four ‘guardian’ Gods Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama and Goddess Pattini. The Kandy Maligawa Perahera is followed in order by those of the Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama and Pattini ‘Devales’ (Temples dedicated to these Gods) which are situated in the vicinity of the Kandy Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth).

After the Kandyan Kingdom fell to the British in 1815, the custody of the Tooth Relic was handed over to the Buddhist Clergy. In the absence of the King, a lay custodian called the Diyawadana Nilame was appointed to handle routine administrative matters. The purpose of the Kandy Esala Perahera Procession is to beseech blessings of the gods to obtain rain for the cultivation of crops and to enrich the lands of the kingdom.

This ritual is performed by carrying the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha through the streets of the Kandy city which is done with exceptional panache. This is considered as one of the most beautiful pageants in the Asia.

எசல பெரகரா அல்லது எசலா பேரணி இலங்கையின் கண்டி நகரத்தில் சூலை/ஆகத்து மாதங்களில் நிகழும் ஓர் பௌத்ததிருவிழாவாகும்.

கண்கவரும் ஆடைகளுடன் நடைபெறும் இத்திருவிழா இலங்கையின் முதன்மையான சின்னங்களில் ஒன்றாக உள்ளது. அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்ட யானைகளுடன், தீநடனம், சவுக்கடி நடனம், கண்டி நகர பாரம்பரிய நடனம் போன்ற பல்வேறு நடனமாடிவரும் ஊர்வலமாகும். "தியா கெப்பீம"வுடன் திருவிழா முடிவடையும்.
