Mar Chalitta - 20th of October. The Exaltation of the Cross is an annual festival celebrated on the 14th of September of each year. The elder told us that the first time the Ramist has celebrated this event was in 1958, after they all helped walking from the bottom of the village on an unpaved road, while carrying on the parts of the iron cross till they reached the little hill that appears to the most villages near & fare from Ram. You are all welcomed to visit our village every day & specially on the previously mentionned days where ceremonies are held & many activities are programmed for young & youth & even adults & old.

اسمه الاصلي ارتيميوس وقد لقّب بالحاكم والمسلِّط أي "شليطا" باللغة الآرامية. كان من أقارب الملك قسطنطين فولاّه على مصر. ولما تملّك يوليانوس الجاحد أمَرَ بعذابه فمات شهيداً سنة 363. يُقال إنه جُلِد ودُهن جسده بالعسل فلدغته الزنابير ثم جُرَّ بأذناب الخيل. فهو شفيع الفلاحين والمواشي والمزروعات فلتكن صلاته معنا، آمين. Thus the complete name of Patriarch Hoyek is "Elias (personal name) Boutros (St. Peter) Hoyek, Patriarch of Antioch and all the East". In fact, his zeal for the Kingdom of Christ made Patriarch Hoyek a worthy success of St. He was an active pastor, visiting his patriarchal diocese regularly, promoting its spiritual life and progress and providing for its needs, examining the situation of the priests, churches, monasteries and convents, giving encouragement and helping the sick, the orphans and the poor. He organized regular yearly spiritual exercises for every parish of the Patriarchal diocese. He encouraged such western institutes as the Jesuit order, the Brothers of the Christian schools, the Marist Brothers, the Lazarists and others to open new schools in his diocese. Among the churches that he helped build by generous financial contributions, let us mention those of the Cedars, Belaouza, Douma, Shatine, Tannurine, Mejdel ’Aqura, Ram, Batrun, Bejjeh, Kefar-Seghab, ’Aqura, Qartaba, Ehmej, Abdelly, Qenat, Bar-Halyun, Mughr-el-Ahwal, Torza, Caïfa, Hasbaya, Khartum in the Sudan and Larnaka, Famagosta and Nicosia in Cyprus.
الدويهي في روما
ولد هذا البار في ربوع إهدن الزاهية موطن القديسين والعلماء والأبطال في اليوم الثاني من شهر آب سنة 1630 يوم تذكار عيد القديس إسطفانوس رئيس الشمامسة وأوّل الشهداء فدعاه والداه باسم القديس الشهيد. تعلّم مبادئ القراءة السريانية والعربية ومعرفة مبادئ الديانة وطقوس كنيستنا المارونية في ظل كنائس رعية إهدن – زغرتا وكان انصبابه على الدرس مشفوعًا بالتقوى كأنّه أدرك من صغره أنّ العلم ليس بشيء بدون خوف الله وعشق العلوم حسب قول مؤرّخ حياته البطريرك سمعان عواد فاختاره البطريرك جرجس عميره بناء على طلب عمّه المطران الياس صرصر الدويهي مطران إهدن (1638-1659) وأرسله إلى المدرسة المارونية في روما العظمى برفقة القس سمعان التولاوي والشماس يوسف فتيان الحصروني وكلاهما من تلامذة المدرسة ومعهم ثلاثة آخرين أي يوسف الرامي من رام البترون وأخيه بطرس وهما ابنا أخت القس سمعان المذكور وبطرس ابن القس إبراهيم من بيت اميه من إهدن وهو ابن عم إسطفان الدويهي الذي صار مطرانًا على صيدا فيما بعد (1680 – 1683) وكان وصولهم إلى روما في شهر حزيران سنة 1641 فأكب على الدرس بكل ما فطر عليه من الحماسة الإهدنية وسبق رفاقه وفاقهم وبالحق قال عنه سمعان عواد في ترجمة الدويهي أنّه سبقهم "على شبه النسر الذي يفوق كل الطيور بالطيران... وكان يلالي بين أولاد المدارس كالشمس بين "الكواكب" وكان اجتهاده في الدرس مقرونًا بعبادة حارة زادها العلم رونقًا وكان إسطفانوس لين العريكة رفيع الطبع وديعًا متّصفًا بمزايا حميدة قال أحد مؤرّخيه أنّه كان ينمو كالسوسن جامعًا لطف الأخلاق وطيب عرف الفضيلة وطهارة السيرة والسريرة.
