From 22nd to 25th September 2026 in Netherlands, officials from Project Delivery and Portfolio Management Department of the General Department of Public-Private Partnerships participated in a training course on “Project Management in the Public Sector” organized by The Hague Academy for Local Governance. The training focuses on: 1) Managing projects throughout the project cycle; 2) Fostering collaboration with relevant institutions in a complex environment; 3) Managing risk; 4) Monitoring project progress; and 5) Strengthening leadership with practical implementation from the project management practices of the Government of the Netherlands.

From 14–15 September 2026, Mr. Toun Sophaphalla, Deputy Director of the Project Development Department of the General Department of Public-Private Partnerships (GDPPP), representing H.E. Om Mactharith, Director General of the GDPPP, led a delegation to participate in the 2026 Asia PPP Practitioners’ Network (APN) Conference under the theme “Infrastructure PPPs Responding to Socio-Economic Demand” in the Republic of Korea.

The Conference was organized by the Korea Development Institute (KDI), in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank (WB), and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), with the participation of representatives from relevant ministries and institutions, as well as senior PPP specialists and practitioners from various countries across the Asian region.

On Wednesday, 9th September 2025, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, witnessed the historic signing ceremony of a facility agreement worth nearly US$1 billion between China Exim Bank and Funan Techo Coastal-Inland Waterways Company for the Funan Techo Integrated Water Resources Management Project.
The Funan Techo Integrated Water Resources Management Project, implemented under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, is a true game changer for Cambodia. It not only connects the inland waterway network to the sea to reduce logistics costs and enhance competitiveness in the logistics sector, but also creates a "new economic corridor" and serves as a vibrant economic artery. Through this project, industrial zones, logistics hubs, agricultural processing centers, satellite urban developments, and tourism along the waterway are expected to thrive over the coming decades.

On Wednesday, 9th September 2026, at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM), Mr. Hang Vuthika, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Public-Private Partnerships (GDPPP), accompanied by colleagues, attended a Technical Working Group meeting, chaired by H.E. Sin Viseth, Under Secretary of State of MOWRAM, to review and discuss on the workplan for the preparation of project pipeline for irrigation systems in Cambodia through PPP mechanism, with the participation of the representatives of local consultant firm and relevant technical teams.
