HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2021 MEMBERS!
13 DAYS in the new year and to God, we give all glory and thanks for the year 2021. The year 2020 was a challenging year for most businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In solidarity with our Pikipiki/Bodaboda and TukTuk members during the pandemic, the BOARD, YOUTH VOLUNTEERS among other partners we distributed hand/ helmet sanitizers, soaps, and foodstuffs around Nyeri County distributing close to 3,000 affected riders/families.
PIKTUK's milestone for the year 2020 was the opening of the PikTuk Riding School Kinunga offices and the launch of the 1st PikTuk Annual Bodaboda Safety Awards. The winner MR. Nahashon Nderitu commonly referred to as “WHITE-MAN” who wears a white cap, helmet, overalls, gloves, socks and rides a white motorcycle was awarded The MOST PROFESSIONAL, DISCIPLINED, and SMART Kenyan Rider for the year2019/2020. He received a trophy, certificate, OIL change and a one-month free refresher rider training course at PikTuk Riding School.
Speaking to the Riders, White-Man reminded other bodaboda riders to maintain hygiene and become more responsible on the road. He further urged riders at the ceremony to love their business, respect it and take good care of those close to them. He urged riders to adhere to the set rules and regulations and be patriotic people who aspire to become better Kenyan citizens.
The CEO PIKTUK Gerald Gitahi N. Ndonga who was also issuing INTERIM DRIVING LICENSES to 100 already trained riders (some not in attendance) from 6 different wards in Nyeri County was joined by other local and national leaders. Our C.E.O lauded the riders who had completed the rider training in time and urged those who hadn’t taken the training seriously to avoid unnecessary delays as corruption shall not be tolerated in the institution. The C.E.O insisted to riders the need to educate themselves more on road safety, joining bodaboda SACCOs, the formation of welfare organizations, and further asked them to save prudently and join pension funds to secure their future.
Congratulations to Mr. Nahashon Nderitu, Mr. Linus Ndoge, and Miss Jane Wangui for being outstanding NDUTHI riders in Nyeri County and in Kenya.
