We live in a time of environmental disorder and uncertainty, but we have the opportunity to act—because inaction is not an option for the sake of future generations.

I’m excited to have met with the Veolia leadership in Africa as we explore partnerships in municipal waste, wastewater, and solid waste management. I also had the pleasure of attending the "Meet the CEO" event at Villa Rosa Kempinski, organized by the French Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with their Gold member, Seureca Veolia.

Over the past few days, I had the privilege of attending an exceptional networking event that brought together leading Nordic businesses with a focus on operations in Africa. Hosted by Innovation Norway and Business Sweden Kenya, the event provided a valuable platform to engage with companies at the forefront of sustainable innovation and business solutions across the continent. The discussions were highly insightful, highlighting the transformative potential of Nordic expertise in addressing critical infrastructure and sustainability challenges in Africa, particularly in relation to enhancing procurement opportunities and fostering sustainable development.

Additionally, I had the pleasure of hosting the Cambi team from Norway as part of our ongoing collaborative efforts to advance the Integrated Waste Facility (IWF) project. Our primary focus lies in the efficient management of wastewater and sludge, which forms a crucial component of the IWF that we are developing in partnership with Nairobi County. The Cambi team's insights have been invaluable, contributing greatly to our goal of creating a comprehensive and sustainable solution to meet Nairobi’s growing waste management needs.

As part of these preparations, we conducted thorough field visits to the Kariobangi Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Ruai Waste Treatment Plant. These site visits provided us with crucial, firsthand insights into the current operational capacities and infrastructure of the treatment facilities. The visits also helped us identify areas where innovative solutions can drive significant improvements. The findings from these field assessments will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategy and technical design for the Integrated Waste Facility, ensuring that it meets both local requirements and aligns with international standards for environmental and operational efficiency.

These engagements have brought our planning efforts forward significantly, and we look forward to continued collaboration to ensure the project’s success. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Gary and the entire Cambi team for their dedicated work and valuable contributions as we move closer to realizing this critical project for Nairobi County.

I had an excellent meeting with a Japanese technology provider at the JICA office in Dar es Salaam to discuss the Mini LNG project, which we are planning to develop in collaboration with the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC). We explored key areas such as technology integration, project timelines, and potential synergies, all of which will be crucial for the project's successful implementation.

This partnership aims to leverage the provider's advanced technology and expertise to ensure the project meets both local and international standards. With Tanzania's significant untapped natural gas resources, this initiative represents a strategic effort to overcome challenges related to funding and capacity by utilizing our company's extensive network and expertise.

Kenya's economy, which is still among the best in Africa to do business in, is open, dynamic, and competitive due to trade. I met with the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) leadership this morning to talk about how Viability Gap can help them streamline trade.
