We may have been quiet on this space but this does not mean that we have been idle. So much has been happening in the past couple of months and we can now celebrate having 40 projects on board 🎉🎉

The team has been working tirelessly to make the dreams of water entrepreneurs in Kenya come true through financing and this has been such a fulfilling journey.

Among the highlights we have to mention is that on the 7th of October the Untapped Water Projects held a seminar for our existing and potential entrepreneurs with the purpose of creating an exchange platform for successes, lessons learnt and milestones to be achieved between both parties.

This seminar affirmed our existing entrepreneurs that Untapped is indeed committed to walk the journey of economic empowerment with them. And on the other hand, it also encouraged and inspired the potential entrepreneurs to get on board, resulting in 10 new sign ups!!!

We had representatives in both the private and public sector and this meant that the interactions cut across and gave a perspective into how both sectors are in a better position to succeed in meeting the last mile of water accessibility if they work together and receive support from investors such as Untapped.

It was such a great pleasure visiting the Howamwana Community Water Project - a Maji Safi Water kiosk that supplies purified water to the residents.

The alternative in the area is saline water, which while not entirely unsafe, has an unpleasant taste.

We look forward to financing the project with a water ATM to:
1. Ensure there is better accounting of the actual sales made
2. Each committee member is able to monitor the amount of water sold from their phones/computers
3. The kiosk runs 24/7 with or without an operator

While at it we also briefly attended a Water Management Committee Training courtesy of Siemens where the speakers touched on water sector reforms, governance, financial management, sustainability, etc.
