Dear Sir/Madam,
I have a story! Many people claim there are no jobs. ‘I have no job’ is all around us. You. If not you, then your brother. Or your sister. Or cousin. Or boyfriend. Or girlfriend. Or is it your niece. Nephew? Someone around you has no job.

But they have something. A laptop.

Now let me tell you my story. I have never had a 8-5 job. Never. Now, I won’t blow my own trumpet. But I’d say I am one of the top 1% that have never lacked a job.

‘I’m looking for a job’ or ‘I am open to work’,as they say sweetly on LinkedIn, are phrases I have never experienced over the last 20 years since I left college. I am always working.

Now many folks ask what I do for a living. This is the truth: For close to 20 years I’ve bee working online for companies and individuals. I work with Americans, British, Germans, Ghanains, Tanzanians, and Russians.

I mostly write, brand, and teach. Design. And repeat.

I have written an obituary for a Russian priest. And it paid me very handsomely. I have ghost-written 10 books. I have written content for 500+ websites. I have written 100+ CVs. Helped hundreds of non profit organizations with profiles and case studies.

But while I am comfortable, the cry of ‘I’m open’ to work is all around me. I have heard folks who have Diploma, College degrees, Masters degree lament and crave for jobs. Even yesterday evening. Even this morning. Every time.

When Steven Sarowitz, the American billionaire said that he would be happy to join me at Dialogues With Jagero I was very happy considering the short journey at DWJ.

But after several meetings and Steve jetting into the country, among other things to visit some projects he cares about, I was happy that my consistency and going after great conversations would pay off.

I met with Steve for the first time at a hotel and I had a very good laugh with him. The funniest moment is when he asked me 'what is that has bothered you about your health' and told me my foot.

He grinned in sympathy and said 'it will be alright'.

Steve then flew to Uganda before coming back to Kenya to have a sit down at DWJ. I enjoyed so much on this chat. I hope you will enjoyed it too.
