Bungoma County Youth Visionary Network was registered in 22nd of April 2020 as a public limited company by guarantee under the companies’ act 2015. The company has 5 management committee members operating from our office at Sikata in Bungoma County. The goal of the company is to uplift the socio-economic status of youth and women and farmers engaged in agribusiness activities in Bungoma County by
promoting, advising, informing, educating and implementing agribusiness-related activities and initiatives. The company mission is to offer the society with high quality, various standard packaging, available and affordable prices cereals (beans, maize, soy beans), sweet potatoes, Irish potatoes and onions, putting food safety first in all our operations by supporting members to access genuine and quality farm inputs affordably, access better markets (and market information) and access affordable finance. The company’s strategy is to leverage on its strength of numbers, favourable climatic conditions, and supportive partners (GIZ, county government of Bungoma, ministry of Agriculture, department of cooperative development among others) to pursue opportunities in the cereals and tubers value chains. Our produce will be marketed and distributed to our customers through a mix of channels, the most common being through the production sub –committee, with the assistance of staff members. The customers include wholesaler (In both organised and open markets) and processors, learning institutions, local consumers and supper markets. Our financial strategy is based on raising our capital through our member contribution – share and membership fees. The membership fee is Kshs. 100 per member and all the members are expected to fully pay by 30th December, 2020. The minimum share capital contribution currently stands at Kshs 6,000 per member (this is to be reviewed) is expected from over five hundred members by December 2020. This will provide approximately 300,000 (three hundred thousand shillings) in 2021. The company project’s profitability of approximately one (1) million, two (2) million, three (3) million and four (4) million Kenya shillings in the years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively.
