A great testimonial is more than a quote in a pretty graphic. It is a story.

Instead of only sharing what a client said, show your audience the full transformation:

Who was the client, and what did they need help with?
What did your discovery process look like?
What solution did you recommend?
What happened as you worked together?
What changed by the end?

Then, once your audience understands the journey, share the client’s testimonial in their own words.

This approach gives the quote context, builds credibility, and helps potential clients see themselves in the story. People love to hear stories and it gives them a chance to see themselves in your process.

Stop treating testimonials like standalone praise. Start using them as proof of your process, expertise, and results.

We will forever die on these hills over here at Aura Palms Marketing, we promise you that:

1.Social media is the bright and shiny object in front of you but it's not the only way you should be marketing your business. But many small business owners forget that because social media feels and seems like its the thing that every one is doing. But we promise you, there are other ways- and those other ways might be the best thing for where your business is right now.

2. Social media isn't where all small businesses should be investing the bulk of their marketing funds (see above girlie pop)

3. You're not doing your business justice if you hire one person for social media, another for email marketing, another for PR...and they don't ever talk to each other or you don't bring them into the results these areas of your marketing are bringing into your business. That's why we run as a fractional CMO team- you basically have experts in each of these areas but under one cohesive umbrella that holds regular meetings about your brand.

4. You will lose clients and customers with selfies and crappy product photography on your website. Social media doesn't have to be perfect and professional but this should be a huge focus for your website.

5. Do we use AI? Sure do. But we also write every single piece of copy with SEO heavy keywords for your website and for your socials so you show up on search engines.

6. A pretty site is great. But if your clients can't sign up or your customers can't make a purchase, or you're losing people at abandoned carts or because your ManyChat automations aren't working right then, well, you're losing business. The tech is just as important as the pretty part (and we do both).

7. You will not grow your business when you're stuck doing every single part of it.

8. See number 5. We work hard on our captions and nothing drives us more crazy than having a client replace it with AI content.

Baby, we are climbing these hills and staying there. So if you want to climb to the top with us, give a follow or send us a DM. Or if you're a marketer, we'd love to hear your hills.

The Lion's Garden Group is a leadership and performance development firm delivering whole-person coaching, facilitation, and leadership support to individuals and organizations operating in high stakes environments. It is lead by Annie, a former U.S. Park Ranger, federal law enforcement officer, EMT, wildland firefighter, military spouse, and ICF-credentialed executive coach.

Annie was a referral from a previous client (and we actually did the website of another person on her coaching staff), and first came to us to revive her social media. She wasn't ready to dive into full social media management but wanted some support is getting started. We did a full month of scripted reels that she was able to record and edit on her own, helping her get back in front of the camera and started bringing her brand to light.

Next on her docket was email marketing. Annie has a pretty good sized list, so she wanted to bring that back to life, too. We started to strategize some brand re-engagement emails, as well as funnels we could use for different areas of her business.

But in true building a business fashion, Annie had some projects coming up that she really wanted to prepare for, so we PIVOTED!

After some discussion, we decided that with a new partnership and some new programs looming, we really needed to get a website up for potential clients and organizations to learn more and reach out.

We started with a landing page for a new program she had coming with an outdoor adventure company, but with another potential partner in the queue, we decided to make a homepage, and a simple about page to showcase their organization's offerings and their team of coaches. For this design we did custom video creation and a fully-customized design on Wordpress.

Now with her new website, Annie is able to promote The Lion's Gardens services, the coaching team, and her outdoor adventure leadership program.

There’s a lot more to marketing than making something look good.

Behind every polished website, social post, email campaign, or lead magnet is strategy, technology, tracking, testing, and a significant amount of time.

And while social media can be an important part of your marketing, it is not always the most important part. Referrals, customer experience, email marketing, website functionality, sales systems, and follow-up processes can have just as much—if not more—impact on your growth.
The strongest marketing does not happen in isolated pieces. Your website, content, messaging, lead generation, sales process, and customer experience all need to work together.

Because great content cannot fix a broken checkout process. More followers will not help if leads are not being followed up with. And posting consistently will only get you so far without a larger strategy behind it.

Marketing is an investment in the systems, visibility, and relationships that help your business grow.

One of the biggest mistakes we see?

People choosing platforms based on what’s popular… not what actually fits their business.

A course creator doesn’t need the same setup as someone selling candles.
And a service provider doesn’t need a complicated system they’ll never use.

The right question isn’t:
“What platform is best?”

It’s:
“What do I actually need this to do?”
That’s usually where things start to make more sense.

This is one of those small things people don’t think about…

But imagine someone clicks your link—
and it goes nowhere.
Or to the wrong page.
Or something outdated.

They won’t message you to let you know.
They’ll just leave.
That’s how a lot of businesses quietly lose leads without realizing it.

At the Aura Agency, this is the kind of backend detail we check all the time. When you hire us, we make sure things actually work the way they should.

If you want a second set of eyes on your website and overall system, send us a message, we’re happy to take a look.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION IN THIS MATTER.
