Sometimes the biggest change starts with deciding that now is a good enough time to begin.

July was full of plot twists.

A new business.
New blogs.
Two weeks in the Bahamas.
Saying yes to France.
Learning to captain.
Finding my voice again.

None of that was on my bingo card six months ago.

I'm done trying to predict exactly where this next chapter is going.

I'd rather keep showing up.
Keep learning.
Keep saying yes.

And see where it leads.

In May my role was eliminated. That wasn't the plan.

If you'd asked me six months ago what this summer would look like, I never would have described this.

But here we are.

I'm building a different business.
Learning French.
Learning to captain our boat.
Writing more than I ever have.

None of those things would have happened if life hadn't shoved me out of a very comfortable place.

Somewhere along the way, something unexpected happened.

I'm excited again.

I honestly missed this feeling.

For thirty years I helped organizations make sure the numbers were right.

Now I'm living what those numbers were really for.

Not a bigger house.
Not a nicer car.

Freedom.

Freedom to pivot.
Freedom to travel.
Freedom to learn.

Freedom to build a life that actually fits the person I'm becoming.

Turns out that's been the lesson all along.

I just kept saying yes to the next thing.

A blog.
A boat trip.
Learning French.
Learning piano.
Building a different business.

Looking back, all those little decisions started adding up to a completely different life.

We're home.

The laundry has started.
The boat needs attention.
The tan came home with me.

Every trip changes me a little.

This one reminded me how little I actually need to feel happy.

Saltwater.
Good company.
A destination.

And enough flexibility to change course when life asks me to.

Two weeks on the water gives you a lot of time to think.

About what matters.
About what doesn't.
About what comes next.

I've filled pages with notes.

Some will become blogs.
Some will become reels.
Some are still just conversations I'm having with myself.

I have a feeling this trip is going to stay with me for a long time.
