ICRA raises FY22 GDP growth forecast to 9%

Rating agency ICRA raised its FY22 real GDP growth forecast for India to 9% from 8.5%.

The rating agency expects better prospects during the second half of the financial year.

An increase in vaccination may boost the functioning and demand of contact-intensive services which can revive the economy.

Cyclone Gulab makes landfall in Andhra

The cyclone made landfall in Kalingapatanam in Andhra Pradesh today.

Odisha experienced light to moderate rainfall as cyclone Gulab made landfall in Miduguda and Tokali villages near Kalingapatnam town in Srikakulam.

Everyone in the area was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The wind speed of the cyclone was much less in Odisha compared to Andhra Pradesh during the landfall.

Post 12 noon today, the cyclone picked up pace from 17 kmph to 25 kmph and made landfall 3 hours ahead of the expected time.
