Most people choose being an insurance advisor as a backup plan.
I chose it as my calling.
And I stayed even after 12 years. Here's why.
I grew up watching my father do this work long before I ever understood the weight it carried.
He wasn’t just an insurance advisor.
He was the first call people made when things went wrong: accidents, hospitalisations, even deaths in the family.
And he always showed up.
Not just with paperwork, but with presence.
That’s the world I walked into when I joined our family business, Nalawade Insurance Consultancy.
Back then, I thought I already knew the ropes.
But over the years, I realized this is not just a business.
It’s a responsibility.
Because insurance only feels optional until the moment it becomes everything.
I’ve stayed in this space because I’ve seen:
✅ A single decision save a family from financial ruin
✅ A business bounce back because we had the right protection in place
✅ The relief in someone’s eyes when they realise, "I’m covered."
Today, I carry forward a 45-year-old legacy, but in a world that’s changed drastically.
Cyber threats, digital tools, faster lives, bigger risks and what not!
Risks evolved, protective measures too and somewhere in between I did as well.
So why did I choose insurance?
Because I believe in being there when it counts the most.
And I stayed because that belief hasn’t changed. Only deepened.
If you’ve ever thought insurance is just a product, I’d love to show you what it really can be.
