Just chaos, cold emails, and bad timing.
That call is why I've spent 2 years building VentureSuite.
Not for the founders who would have raised anyway.
For the ones the system failed.

Something uncomfortable happened while I was building .
AI made parts of what I was building irrelevant overnight.
Features we'd spent months developing — automated deck generation, financial templating, investor research — suddenly had 15 competitors doing it for free.

I remember the exact moment I realised it.
I was reviewing a build. My tech lead showed me a feature we'd worked on for 11 weeks. I opened a new tab. Typed a prompt into a tool that didn't exist 8 months earlier. It did the same thing in 40 seconds.
We sat in silence for a moment.

Then I said: "Okay. So that's not our product anymore."
The hardest decision in building anything is killing something you spent real time on.

But the second hardest is knowing what AI can't replace.
It can't replace governance. It can't replace trust. It can't replace a deterministic scoring system built from 9 years of Indian deal experience. It can't verify an investor's thesis or protect a founder's data room. It can't create a 7-stage deal process with audit trails.

AI can generate a pitch deck in 40 seconds.
It cannot tell you if that deck will survive a serious investor's due diligence. It cannot match you to the right investor. It cannot govern the process that turns a conversation into a closed deal.

That's what we rebuilt VentureSuite around.
Not the features AI made cheap. The infrastructure AI can't replace.
The disruption didn't kill the product. It sharpened it.

Investors are not your partners.
Until the term sheet is signed — they are evaluating you.
Everything you say in a "casual coffee" is data.
Every follow-up email reveals how organised you are.
Every question you ask shows how well you think.
I've seen founders kill deals in the parking lot after a meeting.
Celebrating too early. Being too casual. Saying something offhand about a competitor.
The meeting isn't the pitch. The entire relationship is the pitch.
Treat every touchpoint like it matters.
Because it does.

I started Venture Care in 2016 with zero clients, zero funding, and one laptop in a rented room in Pune.
Nobody took me seriously.
I was a CS qualified and a CA dropout to start Venture Care. A guy trying to compete with investment banks that had decades of relationships and teams of 50+.

The first 2 months? I sent 300+ emails. Got 4 replies. Closed 0 deals.
I almost shut it down.
Then one founder called me at 11 pm. He'd been rejected by 12 investors. His runway was 45 days. He had a wife and a newborn at home.

I worked for free for 3 weeks. Rebuilt his deck. Reframed his pitch. Introduced him to 3 investors I barely knew.
He raised ₹65 lakhs in 38 days.
That call changed everything.
Today, VentureCare Services (P) Ltd has helped raise $60M+ for startups across India and the US
But I still remember that 11 pm call.
Because that's why I do this.
Not for the numbers. For the founder who's 45 days from shutting down and has nobody to call.
