It is a Defence e-marketplace and a B2B, B2C and B2G portal with services for defence buying agencies and for sellers/suppliers. It has been listed on the EU e-business site as a key defence e-market place. The site has been built by Svipja Technologies: a firm

that has been listed on the US Department of Commerce website as a select ICT services provider. The portal that allows collaboration, work process flow, self service after sign up. It allows matchmaking, business activities and support based on tiered services selected. It provides listings and services for 23 main product/service categories each of which is broken down into sub categories. For example: the aerospace category has listings in over 150 product/service subcategories. Over 3000 sub categories of products/services are listed on the site for transactions. It has seen visits from interested leads from over 70 countries in the world. The facilities on the portal are:

It provides the option of self-service or managed services as per the tariff structure. It provides a real time and dynamic database for members with search and filtering options. The platform is tailored for investment facilitation, promotion of products and services and as an e-platform for offset contracts. It aims to provide assistance in collaborations, joint ventures and technology transfers in the offset space. The project was supported by the CII-IAC initiative between 2007-2010 under the aegis of Mr Sam Pitroda. Svipja Technologies has been created and promoted by Brig Sukhwindar Singh (Retired), who conceptualized key defence events and exhibitions like Aero India, DEF EXPO etc that are now regular industry events. Clients of Svipja include Tata Motors, IIFT, Siemens, CMC, INDAL, Nucleus Software etc.
