*1) First Foreign Branch of LIC of India opened on 5th October'1956 at Suva in Fiji.*
*2) 'YOGAKSHEMA' our Corporate Magazine started as a Quarterly Edition in May'1957.*
*3) First BIMAGRAM - TALNI PURNA village in AMRAVATI District declared in the year 1958.*
*4) OTC ( Officers' Training College) founded at Nagpur on 16th May'1960.*
*5) First batch of Direct Recruit Officers joined the Corporation in the year 1961.*
*6) LIC adopted the change over from the Calendar year to Financial Year in 1963.*
*7) 'YOGAKSHEMA', an architectural landmark, Corporate Office of LIC inaugurated by the then PM Hon'ble Jawaharlal Nehruji on 26th December'1963.*
*8) In 1965, LIC introduced the concept of the PHC ( Policyholders' Council) and was set up in each Division.*
