In terms of the timeline set out by the central bank, from April 2014 all banks will accept and exchange pre-2005 notes. These can easily be identified by the absence of year of printing at the reverse of the note.

As US debates to introduce QE3 , one wonders, this time, how many pine trees costing $5000 each will be chopped , converted into pulp and made into paper, splashed with few drops of ink to be called billion dollars of US currency. More paper, more debt , backed by no collateral – whichever economic school in the world teaches these principals – is worth going short.

No filing of tax return for salary and interest income up to Rs 5 lakh !!!

As many as 85 lakh salaried tax payers whose taxable income, including salary and interest income, is up to Rs 5 lakh, are not required to file income-tax return from now onwards...
