TWO WORLDS MET ON TUESDAY — AND INDIA SITS BETWEEN BOTH.
War World: US struck IRGC mine-laying boats in Hormuz + SAM site at Bandar Abbas. Brent +3% to $99.58. Trump pulled back: "time is on our side, not in a rush."
AI World: S&P 500 record 7,519 · Nasdaq record 26,656 · Micron +19% on UBS upgrade, briefly hit $1 TRILLION market cap. 16 of top 20 S&P performers — all semis.

INDIA — TWO STORIES PULLING OPPOSITE WAYS TODAY:
TAILWIND ➜ S&P record + Micron $1T validates AI capex thesis
• Nifty IT (down 27% since Feb) — overdue for relief bounce
• India semis proxies — Tata Elxsi, Kaynes, Syrma SGS, Dixon, Bharat Forge, Netweb
• Micron Sanand DRAM plant = direct beta to the global memory up-cycle
HEADWIND ➜ Oil reversal + US strikes
• OMC stocks (HPCL/BPCL/IOC) +4–6% Mon, now face profit-booking
• Aviation marginally pressured
• Petrol +₹7.5/litre in 10 days = CPI watch for RBI MPC
THE UNDER-THE-RADAR STORY — INDIA-US BOND SPREAD
India-US 10Y spread has WIDENED from 230bps (May 19) to 245bps (May 26). FIRST favourable bond move for India in 8 weeks. US 10Y fell from 4.62% → 4.51%. If RBI MPC (June 3–5) shifts stance to accommodative + FOMC (June 16–17) signals dovish → India 10Y to 6.85% → 3–5% rally in rate-sensitives (real estate, NBFC, auto). Almost no one is positioned for this.
THE DOMESTIC ABSORPTION STORY
DIIs bought ₹56,865 cr in May. FIIs sold ₹32,228 cr. Absorption ratio 1.76x — strongest in years. Domestic ownership has crossed foreign ownership for the FIRST TIME IN 14 YEARS. This is the structural shift institutional Bharat has been waiting for.
CATALYST CALENDAR:
• Iran MoU: 55–60% probability of signing within 1–2 weeks
• RBI MPC: 7 days away
• FOMC (Warsh's first as Chair): 21 days
• Q4 FY26 earnings — wind-down phase
THE TRADE TODAY:
The play is no longer "wait for the deal." The play is POSITION FOR THE POST-DEAL WORLD while uncertainty keeps prices favourable. Own India IT for AI revival. Own semis mid-caps for the Micron-Nvidia tide. Own rate-sensitives for the MPC stance shift. Buy OMC weakness for post-deal margin normalisation.
The deal is coming. The bond spread is moving. The DIIs are absorbing.
The trade is India. The catalysts are 7 days, 21 days, and one MoU away.
