Praveenchandra Shetty's "Mission: Advanced Road Safety 2019-2024"
Although I concluded my personal social responsibility "Mission: Advanced Road Safety 2019-2024" on December 31, 2024, I was forced to continue it until March 2025, till our Minister for Road and Highways ( ), Hon'ble Nitin Gadkari Ji ( ), publicly accepted the fact I had documented, at GRIS-Global Road Infratech Summit & Expo ( ) held on 6-7 March at New Delhi
Through this study, I have refuted the common belief that road traffic accidents and deaths are caused only by two reasons: over speeding and drunk driving.
Through this mission, which I actively pursued for five and a half years after the publication of this research book, I successfully convinced the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways ( ), the National Highways Authority of India ( ) and NGOs dealing with road safety ( ) that road traffic accidents and deaths occur due to Unscientic Road Designs and Faulty Road Traffic Management Infrastructures.
This type of research and documentation has never been attempted or conducted anywhere in the world. The International Road Safety Federation ( ) has also liked my reseach in its Official Account Page as this is the first such attempt in the world.
The content of this book is applicable to developing, already developed and under developed countries.
This reseach is also helpful to those countries where road accidents and deaths ( and ) occur due to No Fault Of Road Users.
The disclaimer clause and every summary in my book have stood unchallenged for the past five and a half years, that proves that the facts recorded are flawless, undisputed, true and error-free.
The researchers may use the contents of this book free of cost with the permission of the author; for the purpose of keeping record.
I thank our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji ( ) and the officials of for appriciating this research book twice; first time on 13th December 2009 and second time on 31st July 2020 for its merit and accuracy.
Now that, I have documented these two new causes of road traffic accidents and fatalities, I am satisfied that my continuous efforts and persistence have paid off and shown results.
I am indebted to the authorities who have started examining these aspects of accidents, especially in accident-prone areas ( ) in the last five and a half years and are paying more attention to road designs, road traffic management infrastructure and road rendering quality (compared to those built before July 2020), as well as to the Rashtriya Raksha University ( ), Gujarat, which recognised the study, and to several road safety organizations.
A car company stopped production of one architecturally defective vehicle mentioned in a chapter of my book within a few months of its publication. My heartfelt thanks to them too.
I have spent about six and a half years in this social work (preparation for the long journey, travelling in my own vehicle on Indian highways, expressways, link roads to nearby villages, towns and cities for 19,110 km in 58 days, and one year of hard work to author this research book accurately, without taking any sponsorship, and reporting the facts as they are, from my own financial resources.
This book is authored based on my own experience of working as an independent motor insurance claims surveyor and loss assessor for the last 38 years and the book does not contain and copy-pasted material from internet or any media.
It was my personal social responsibility as corporates do under their CSR, and I am satisfied that I have managed it adequately and single-handedly.
